Bournemouth brace for three‑month loss as Kroupi faces foot surgery

Twenty‑year‑old Eli Junior Kroupi will miss up to three months after undergoing surgery to repair a fifth metatarsal fracture, a blow that sidelines the France U21 international for AFC Bournemouth, commonly known as the Cherries, for a significant portion of the season.

Eli Junior Kroupi (20) had the operation performed after the injury was confirmed, with ’s Fabrice Hawkins reporting the fifth metatarsal repair.

Marco Rose’s Cherries are expected to be without the forward for up to three months as he recovers from the fracture.

The precise timetable for Kroupi’s return will hinge on the progress of his rehabilitation programme.

Kroupi arrived at Bournemouth after moving from BKFC‑owned Ligue 1 side FC Lorient, a switch that saw him enter the Premier League environment.

In his debut season in the English third‑tier he recorded 13 goals, establishing himself as a prolific attacker.

His displays have attracted interest from several European powerhouses, notably FC Barcelona, who are currently seeking a centre‑forward following Robert Lewandowski’s departure to Chicago Fire.

Bournemouth have reportedly rejected multiple offers from the La Liga champions as they aim to retain the young striker.
