Bodart eager to prove his talent against Lille OSC
Le Havre will face LOSC away this Saturday at 5:15 pm in Ligue 1, a particular duel for Arnaud Bodart, recently arrived from the Wolves of Standard Liège to join the Havre side. He is among the two goalkeepers selected, alongside Gauthier Gallon, for the squad announced this morning.
Goalkeeper choice for the away match
The day's squad was confirmed this morning by the Normandy club. Arnaud Bodart appears there alongside Gauthier Gallon, the two only goalkeepers selected for the away match. LOSC, known as Lille OSC, hosts the visitors in Ligue 1. This selection marks the first time the Belgian goalkeeper has been included in the squad since his arrival.
Bodart has so far only had one appearance in Le Havre's squad, during the match against Toulouse on September 19, which ended in a 3‑2 defeat. That appearance was the only one since his transfer from the Wolves. He is therefore hoping to establish himself against his former club.
Context of Mpasi's injury
Since Lionel Mpasi's injury, the goalkeeper position has been occupied by the last player mentioned, Gauthier Gallon. Bodart could therefore be called upon to replace the injured Belgian. This possibility fuels speculation around the lineup.
Lille enter as favourites but must respect Le Havre at Pierre-Mauroy
Starting against LOSC, his former club, could take on a particular significance for the Belgian goalkeeper. He said he wants to outdo himself and use the occasion to regain playing time. The motivation could be reinforced by the memory of a difficult period in Lille.
‘For me, but that’s just a personal impression, Digard will go out with Gauthier Gallon in goal. Starting, for the first time since his arrival at Le Havre, Bodart on the Lille pitch, his former club, where things did not go very well, would be a double‑edged sword. I’m not sure the staff will want to take that risk, because it is one…’ – Benoît Donckele, Le Havre follower
But manager Didier Digard will have to choose between Bodart and Gallon. Starting Bodart on the Lille pitch, where things did not go very well, would be a double‑edged sword according to Donckele. The staff is not yet sure about taking this risk.
Bodart has already played 45 minutes of a friendly match where Le Havre won 6‑1 against Boulogne‑sur‑Mer a little over a week ago. This performance shows that he is ready to intervene. The duel will be broadcast live on .be at 5:15 pm.
