Blackpool secure Jamaica international Anderson on four‑year deal

Blackpool have secured 21‑year‑old Jamaica international Karoy Anderson from Championship side Charlton Athletic on a four‑year contract for an undisclosed fee. The former loanee, who impressed during a February loan spell, signs permanently in July 2026. He joins the Seasiders after helping them in their battle for survival during the loan.

Anderson marked his Blackpool debut by scoring in a 2‑2 draw with Huddersfield in February, an image captured by [Getty Images]. During that loan he made 16 appearances for the Seasiders.

Manager Ian Evatt said, "It's taken a bit of time to get the deal over the line, but I'm delighted to be able to work with Karoy again as he was a major reason for our fine form at the back end of last season." Evatt highlighted Anderson's defensive contributions as key to Blackpool's late‑season resurgence.

The 21‑year‑old progressed through Charlton Athletic's academy before making 88 senior appearances for the club. He also featured in Charlton's promotion campaign from League One in the 2024‑25 season.

Reflecting on his loan, Anderson told the club website, "I had a really good time here last season and I'm confident we will have great seasons to come." His statement underscores his optimism about future contributions.

The four‑year deal locks Anderson into Blackpool's plans through 2030. Charlton receive an undisclosed fee while freeing up a squad place after his departure.

For the Seasiders, securing a player who proved decisive in February adds depth to their Championship campaign. Anderson's permanent move offers him stability and the chance to build on his international experience with Jamaica.
