Birmingham Osman hopes dim as Davies doubts return
[PA Media] Birmingham City manager Chris Davies told BBC Radio WM that a permanent move for Ibrahim Osman is not likely, adding he is a big fan of the player’s speed, power and attitude. He made the comment ahead of Saturday’s Carabao Cup tie at Swansea.
Brighton are competing in the Conference League this season, which Davies said reduces the chance of Osman departing. He noted that the club appears to appreciate his recent displays.
Davies stressed that Birmingham still have work to do in the transfer market, highlighting the need for multiple goal‑scoring threats. He warned the club must bring in quality players in the next few weeks to boost the attack.
Reflecting on the past two seasons, Davies observed the squad size has shrunk and activity across clubs is expected to increase over the next four weeks. His main target, he said, is to “come out stronger than we went in.”
The Blues have already signed five new players this summer.
With Osman likely to remain at Brighton, Birmingham will have to look elsewhere to reinforce their forward line before the window shuts. The club hopes the upcoming signings will deliver the needed firepower.
