Belgian prospects chase Euro ticket in crucial duel against Denmark

Tonight the young Red Devils get their first chance to secure a Euro ticket, when they face the U21‑qualification match in Denmark at 18:30. A draw is enough to secure safety, while a win would confirm the group‑leader position. The match is the first of the final two group rounds and determines whether Belgium goes through directly or has to fight via the play‑offs.

Chance of direct qualification

In Group I Belgium currently sits in first place with sixteen points, after five wins, one draw and one loss. Denmark follows in second place with fourteen points, meaning a draw already makes the Belgian side sufficient for direct qualification.

Live overview and sport mix

The programme offers a live overview under the heading Football, but also lists Tennis and Formula 1 in the same section. From 18:30 fans can follow the match phase by phase via the LIVE‑stream, as stated in the Programme section.

There is even a question whether Norman Bassette can provide a goal again, a query that catches the supporters' attention. His earlier contribution in the qualification was crucial, and a new goal would further strengthen the attack. The term Belgi appears in the programme description as an abbreviation for Belgium.

Belgium's young Red Devils chase Euro U21 spot in Denmark

Behind the top of the table are Austria with eleven points, Wales with six and Belarus with four, all of which still have chances for a play‑off ticket. Guest nations Albania and Serbia are already automatically qualified for the Euro in June 2027, making the battle for the remaining places even sharper.

If Belgium confirms the group leader with a win, it will finish the group stage with a perfect record. A draw, however, means the side must still rely on a favorable result from the other matches to retain the best second place.

The contrast between a safe draw and the temptation of a winning margin underscores the tension for the young Red Devils. Tonight's final result will make clear whether the Belgian prospects are ready for Euro 2027 or have to fight through the extra round.
