Bayern unveil Saibari: €55m Moroccan talent promises to repay trust

Ismael Saibari was presented by Bayern München after his €55 million transfer from PSV, and the Moroccan forward says he is determined to repay the trust of the German record champions.

Director Max Eberl welcomed Saibari, stating, “We have known Ismael for a while. But the definitive signal that he is the right player for Bayern was the PSV match against us.” Bayern won that game 1‑2, despite Saibari scoring.

Eberl added, “He caused problems again and again with his speed and versatility, even though we won. He has something special. We kept an eye on him. At some point it was clear we wanted to strengthen our attack. Both signings, Nathaniel Brown and Ismael, show we want to increase our flexibility.”

Saibari said, “My teammates have welcomed me very nicely. The players, the staff, everyone has been very kind.” He explained his choice, noting, “Because it is one of the biggest clubs in the world, that is certain. Their playing style also fits me. Since Vincent Kompany arrived, Bayern play with a lot of intensity. I experienced that last season as well. I love this style and look forward to the new challenge.”

Still recovering from an injury, Saibari has not yet made an unofficial debut. He hinted that minutes could come next weekend, saying, “I am fully recovered and back in training with the team. Minutes in the practice match with Leipzig? I don’t know yet. I have to discuss with the medical staff first.”
