Bayern struggle to get a point as Barça claim the top spot
On the second matchday of the Champions League group stage, Bayern Munich only managed to scrape a point against Viking FK (3-3), while FC Barcelona dominated their game to take the top spot in the standings.
Bayern Munich on the brink of a setback
Bayern had a difficult first period, conceding two goals before halftime. Vincent Kompany then reshuffled the defence, but the team regained the lead thanks to a brace from Harry Kane (2-2) and then a goal from Luis Diaz (2-3, 71st minute). Michael Olise received two consecutive yellow cards and was sent off in the 73rd minute, giving the Norwegians the chance to score the third goal and level the match (3-3). In the provisional standings, Bayern sit in fourth place and risk dropping further.
Inter Milan collapses, Barça soars
Inter Milan lost at home to Club Brugge (3-4). After the Belgians opened the scoring, the Nerazzurri equalised, then Nicolo Tresoldi added two more goals to bring the score to 3-3. Lautaro Martinez doubled for Inter, but two further Belgian strikes sealed the defeat, with Ange Bonny’s late goal proving futile.
