Bayern’s Super Cup triumph eclipses Veerman’s debut disappointment
Bayern München seized the Franz Beckenbauer Super Cup, the Duitse Super Cup, on Saturday evening, beating Borussia Dortmund 2‑1, while Joey Veerman’s much‑anticipated debut for Dortmund was marred by a late substitution and a defeat that dimmed his first‑team start in the German equivalent of the Johan Cruijff Schaal.
Bayern clinches the Super Cup
Update: Within two minutes Bayern München claimed the De Franz Beckenbauer Super Cup on Saturday evening. In that match, Borussia Dortmund were defeated 1‑2, handing Bayern the trophy.
The Bayern newcomer, Nathaniel Brown, arrived for €50 million from Eintracht Frankfurt. After a blocked attack he cut inside from the right, fired into the short corner and saw the ball hit the post as goalkeeper Gregor Kobel was on the wrong foot.
Just before the break Michael Olise added a second goal, tapping a loose ball from close range to make the score 0‑2 past Kobel.

Dortmund had begun strongly at their own Signal Iduna Park and even saw a first‑half goal ruled out for off‑side, showing early promise before the deficit grew.
Veerman's debut under a cloud
Zowel Veerman at Dortmund and Ismael Saibari at Bayern began the match on the bench, marking their first appearances for the new clubs.
After a little more than an hour Veerman entered the field for the home side, replacing Felix Nmecha. Former PSV player Daniel Svensson delivered a cross from the left, and Fabio Silva struck via Alphonso Davies to pull Dortmund within one.

Shortly thereafter Saibari scored for Bayern, and despite Dortmund’s attempts they never became a real threat. Bayern held on to claim their twelfth Super Cup, while near the end Ramy Bensebaini was sent off after a foul on Saibari.
