Bayern’s FC side hit 900th CL Cup goal as Musiala scores

Jamal Musiala broke the deadlock for Bayern Munich on Thursday evening at the Allianz Arena, delivering the club’s 900th goal in the Champions League against FK Bodø/Glimt and securing a historic European milestone.

Milestone puts Bayern among elite

Before kickoff the German record champions sat on 899 goals in the competition; Musiala’s strike pushed them to 900, making Bayern only the second side ever to reach that figure, behind Real Madrid’s 1,139.

The achievement also extended Bayern’s flawless start in the tournament – they have now won each of their opening matches in all 22 Champions League appearances since 2003.

Context and comeback

The win came after a 0‑0 draw with Schalke 04, the first time in 59 straight competitive games that Bayern failed to score, so the early goal was a fitting response.

Harry Kane had been tipped to claim the landmark, but the English striker was not the one to etch his name into the record books; Musiala, back in the starting eleven after disclosing a neurological disorder, seized the moment.

Vincent Kompany, Bayern’s head coach, praised the Norwegian side, saying “Bodø/Glimt is a fantastic story for the football world” and highlighted the team’s work ethic.

The original Dutch report began with the word De, and the broadcast listing even mentions VTM GO. The report also contains the words Als and Er, reflecting its bilingual nature.

Against Bodø/Glimt, the milestone was sealed, and the side of Bod celebrated the achievement, underscoring Bayern’s enduring European pedigree.
