Bayern's €80m bid could clear a path for Olmo at München

Bayern Munich are reportedly preparing a transfer of around €80 million Euro for Spanish midfielder Dani Olmo. The bid, aimed at the 28‑year‑old, comes as João Félix is expected to return to FC Barcelona this summer. Both moves could reshape the Spaniard’s future.

Why Bayern target Olmo

Bayern have monitored Olmo’s situation closely, seeing an opportunity to strengthen their attacking midfield. The club values his versatility, able to operate as a second striker or advanced playmaker, roles that complement their current squad. The club, based in München, believes an €80 million investment reflects their long‑term ambition.

João Félix is set to leave Al‑Nassr when his contract expires after the season, and his agent Jorge Mendes has already informed Barcelona (Blaugrana) of his interest in returning. A Félix comeback would intensify competition for the positions Olmo usually occupies, altering Olmo’s situation at the Catalan club. Félix can also operate as an attacking midfielder and second striker, mirroring Olmo’s preferred roles.

Olmo featured in 49 matches for Barcelona last season, netting eight goals and providing ten assists. He accumulated 2 838 minutes on the pitch and is contracted until June 2030. His experience of four and a half Bundesliga campaigns adds to his appeal.

Bayern’s interest predates his move from RB Leipzig to Barcelona, and they appreciate his four‑and‑a‑half seasons in Germany. The German champion believes his familiarity with the league will ease his integration.

If Bayern finalise the €80 million deal, the Spaniard could embark on a new chapter in München while Barcelona prepares for Félix’s return. The transfer would reshape the tactical options for both clubs and define Olmo’s next career step.
