Bayern rally from early shock to secure Copa da Alemanha spot

Under the floodlights at Stadion an der Bremer Brücke, Bayern de Munique stared at a 1‑0 deficit after five minutes but surged back to win 4‑1, securing progression in the Copa da Alemanha on Wednesday (2) in the first‑round tie against Osnabruck.

Rapid Bayern response

Osnabruck, a 2. Bundesliga side, took the lead after five minutes when Robin Meissner struck a volley from outside the area that curled into the top corner, a goal described as worthy of a Puskás award.

Bayern answered quickly. Harry Kane levelled the score after less than twenty minutes, marking his first goal of the season. Tom Bischof then restored the lead six minutes later. In the second half Michael Olise extended the advantage, and Kane completed a brace from the spot. Sources differ on the exact minutes of Olise’s and Kane’s second goals, citing either the 37th and 41st minutes or the 73rd and 86th minutes.

Kane’s stay at Bayern forces Barcelona to chase Haaland

With the 4‑1 win, Bayern de Munique moves into the round of 16 of the Copa da Alemanha. The draw for the next round is scheduled for Saturday (5), when the club will learn its opponent.

Managed by Vincent Kompany, the current German champions showed why they remain the benchmark in the country, turning a nervous start into a convincing victory.

The result underlines Bayern’s depth and their intent to add another cup triumph to their trophy cabinet, while Osnabruck will reflect on a spirited performance that fell short.
