Everton’s 32‑year‑old England goalkeeper Jordan Pickford commands an estimated £150,000 a week for the 2026‑27 season, a figure that has drawn Bayern Munich’s attention as they plan for life after Manuel Neuer.

Background to Bayern’s interest

Bayern Munich have placed Pickford on a shortlist for 2027, according to journalist Alan Nixon. The German club are gathering background information on the Premier League star, with Vincent Kompany reportedly using his contacts to feed reports to Bayern’s scouting network.

Neuer signed a contract extension in May that runs until 30 June 2027, and the veteran has hinted the current season may be his last. While Jonas Urbig remains in Bayern’s goalkeeping group, the club could still seek an experienced replacement for European competition.

Everton’s position and Pickford’s form

Everton extended Pickford’s contract in October 2025, now running until June 2029. He has started all five league matches this season, keeping three clean sheets and posting an 83.3 percent save rate.

David Moyes’ side began the campaign unbeaten, with two wins and three draws from their first five league games, making Pickford a central figure at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Should Everton sell him, the Merseyside club would face a serious sporting problem before or during the 2027 campaign, as replacing a goalkeeper of his experience would be costly and risky.

Bayern’s reported interest remains at the planning stage; no formal approach has been made and no agreement exists. The club still has alternatives such as Verbruggen or continuing Urbig’s development.

Any serious approach would require a huge fee, and Everton would need a credible replacement before considering a sale. For now, Bayern’s watchful brief does not constitute a genuine transfer close.
