Bayern Munich marks 2026 with new Oktoberfest jersey, no anniversary
Since the 2021/22 season, the record champions Bayern Munich have had a special Oktoberfest jersey every year. While previous editions usually commemorated anniversaries, the new 2026 model has no particular occasion, but it is meant to celebrate the spirit of the Munich folk festival.
Tradition since 2021/22
An Oktoberfest jersey has been a permanent part of the club culture since the 2021/22 season. The German record champions Bayern have since released a unique design each year, emphasizing the link between football and the Bavarian folk festival.
The jersey of the last season was produced for the club’s 125th birthday and the 190th anniversary of the Munich Beer Festival. This double celebration highlighted both the long club history and the local tradition.
In contrast, the 2026 edition has no specific anniversary. According to the official club website, the jersey is to “celebrate everything that makes Oktoberfest so special: joie de vivre, community and diversity”.
The design dazzles with a colourful, floral pattern that is meant to capture the unique atmosphere that characterises Munich during Oktoberfest. The visual language is intended to reflect the lively bustle and festive mood.
Thus, the annual Oktoberfest jersey remains a symbol of the close connection between Bayern Munich and Bavarian culture, even though no special anniversary is being celebrated this year.
