Bayern Munich Jamal Musiala Provides Health Update After Collapsing

In the twilight of a Tuesday evening pre‑season friendly, 23‑year‑old Jamal Musiala collapsed for the second time in four days as Bayern Munich secured a 4‑2 win over Heidenheim, prompting the German star to issue a detailed health update.

First collapse in Leipzig

Musiala first fell on Saturday, August 15th, during Bayern's friendly against RB Leipzig, fainting moments after scoring in the 81st minute. The incident was linked to extreme heat, and medical staff cleared him to play in the subsequent match against Heidenheim. He entered the second‑half action in that game, only to hit the ground heavily four minutes later.

Both sets of players formed a protective wall around Musiala as emergency medical staff rushed to his aid. He managed to get to his feet and walked off the pitch with support, despite the alarming short interval between the two episodes.

Musiala's health explanation

Through an Instagram post, Musiala explained that he has been diagnosed with brief, temporary episodes of absence caused by a neurological dysfunction, which are easily treatable. He emphasized that there is no additional health risk beyond these episodes and that, after close consultation with specialists, he chose to play against Heidenheim to continue his everyday life and pursue his passion.

He expressed optimism, stating he is receiving the best possible medical care and that FC Bayern, along with his close circle, are constantly by his side. Musiala asked fans to understand his wish to keep the matter within the club, his confidants and the experts.

The German forward added that he feels “on a very good path” and that chasing victories and titles with his team helps his recovery. He concluded his message with gratitude, signing off, “Thank you very much. Yours, J.”
