Bayern Munich includes Jules Koundé in its January list

Jules Koundé was photographed during the UEFA Champions League 2026/27 League Phase MD1 between FC Barcelona and Feyenoord Rotterdam at the Camp Nou on September 9, 2026, and is already on Bayern Munich's January transfer list.

Koundé has lost part of his playing time at Barcelona, and rumors of a possible departure are intensifying. Once an undisputed starter for the club and the national team, his place in the starting eleven is now in doubt.

Bayern Munich has joined Chelsea among the clubs monitoring the French defender. A report from Germany confirmed what Diario SPORT had already published: Bayern are looking to strengthen their defence and Koundé is on the list.

The Bavarian side has rotated Konrad Laimer and Josip Stanišić at right-back and also has Sacha Boey, who seems not to fit into manager Vincent Kompany's plans. However, they are seeking an upgrade and Koundé could be the solution.

Bayern confident in Koundé's recovery

According to rumors, Bayern believe the Frenchman can return to his best level after the recent dip in form. To achieve this, they could sell Boey, who would be the main candidate.

Koundé is not in a hurry to leave Barcelona and his contract runs until 2030. The Catalan club is not obliged to sell, although it could do so to fund other signings.

Besides Koundé, Bayern are also considering Givairo Read from Feyenoord as a possible defensive reinforcement.
