Bayern München overturns deficit and takes three points at Elversberg
Bayern Munich booked a hard‑fought 2-1 victory on Sunday evening away at SV Elversberg, after the visitors took the lead after 26 minutes. Thanks to a twist in the second half and a winning strike from Harry Kane, the team recovered the lost points.
Early setback and turnaround
The visitors took the lead after 26 minutes when former PSV player Ismael Saibari sent a cross to Lennart Karl, who struck it from close range. The assist was ultimately credited to Harry Kane because he lightly touched the ball on its way, putting the eighteen‑year‑old striker in the right place again.
Before halftime it seemed Elversberg would find the equaliser through Cole Campbell, but the goal was disallowed by VAR for offside, leaving the score at 1‑0 at the break.
Second half and decisive goal
After the break Bayern lost its grip, but the pressure produced an equaliser after more than an hour: Maurice Krattenmacher, who had come on at halftime, scored a brilliant long‑range shot to make it 1‑1.
Vincent Kompany then decided to intervene firmly and brought Jamal Musiala, Luis Díaz and Joshua Kimmich into the area, giving Bayern more control again.
In the 71st or 72nd minute (sources differ) Harry Kane made it 2‑1, his first Bundesliga goal of the season, and put his side back in the lead.
In the final stages Bayern held on, secured the victory and recovered from the earlier loss of points. With these three points the team climbs to fourth place with seven points, while Elversberg suffers their first defeat and occupies sixth place with six points.
Bayern Munich continues to fight for the top spots in the Bundesliga, while SV Elversberg hopes to pick up points again quickly after their first loss.
