Bayern close to extending Kane's contract: CEO expects a few days

In the quiet Bayern office in Munich, CEO Jan‑Christian Dreesen is reviewing Harry Kane’s contracts; in a few days we are approaching their finalisation; the negotiations, started in August, have already gone through the final months of the four‑year deal signed after the transfer from Tottenham in the summer of 2023.

Jan‑Christian Dreesen said on Wednesday that it won’t be long before the new agreement with the English striker is announced.

He added: “We are finalising the details right now; it will only take a few days. It’s normal for the lawyers to review the precise details once again among themselves. We have already discussed and negotiated all the major issues before the Ballon d’Or ceremony.”

Harry Kane reported during last month’s international break that the negotiations with Bayern were going well and that the two sides were quite close to an agreement.

He then added: “There are still a few things we need to sort out. I’m happy here. I think it won’t be long before some kind of announcement is made.”

Kane’s successful journey in Germany

Since arriving at Bayern, Kane has won two Bundesliga titles, the German Cup and two German Super Cups, after spending years at Tottenham without winning any trophies in the Premier League.

He is also the only player to have been the Bundesliga top scorer in each of his first three seasons in Germany.
