Bayern and Juventus celebrate wins, but Austrian legionnaires stay on the bench
Bayern Munich secured the first season win on Wednesday in the UEFA Women’s Champions League, while Juventus Turin recorded a 3:0 away win against BK Häcken in the same round. Both teams did not field any of the Austrian ÖFB‑legionnaires.
Details of the victories
The double winner Bayern Munich won on the second matchday of the league phase at the Estadio da Luz against Benfica Lisbon with a hard‑fought 3:0 (0:0). The Austrian players Sarah Zadrazil, Katharina Naschenweng and Barbara Dunst remained on the bench.
A week after the 2:2 draw against Manchester City, the Bayern women were too harmless in attack for a long time, until Klara Bühl saved the team in the 74th minute. Pernille Harder (80.) and Franziska Kett (88.) added further goals to the result.
In Juventus Turin's match, Tatiana Pinto scored in the 57th minute, Stölen Godö in the 77th minute and Alba Redondo in the 88th minute the three goals. Here as well, the ÖFB‑goal scorer Larissa Rusek did not take part.
