Barcelona’s summer gamble: Adeyemi arrives as second attacking signing
Barcelona have unveiled Karim Adeyemi as their second attacking signing of the summer, a move that contrasts sharply with the looming end of Marcus Rashford’s loan spell at the Spanish champions. Vandaag the Catalan club announced the German (Duitser) forward’s arrival, signalling a fresh direction for their attack.
De Catalaanse club heeft de komst van de rappe aanvaller wereldkundig gemaakt, confirming the transfer publicly. The announcement came at 12:29, with an update posted a few minutes later.
Adeyemi komt over van Borussia Dortmund en tekent tot medio 2031. The German (Duitser) striker will stay at Barcelona until at least the middle of 2031.
Volgens Spaanse media the fee is €22 million, with potential bonuses that could add another €7 million. Additionally, twenty percent of any future transfer profit will go to BVB.
Voor his time in Germany he played 146 matches for the Borussen, scoring 36 goals and providing 25 assists. Those numbers underline his productivity as a forward.
Dat Dortmund originally signed him in 2022 from the Red Bull system, after spells at Red Bull Salzburg and FC Liefering, and his youth career included Bayern München. His international experience includes eleven caps for the German (Duitser) national team, with one goal.
De club’s earlier summer acquisition was Anthony Gordon, who arrived from Newcastle United for €80 million. That signing made him Barcelona’s first major forward purchase of the window.
Voor the forward line, Barcelona have also shown interest in Atlético Madrid striker Julián Álvarez, though the Madrid side has not agreed to a sale. The Catalan side remains active in the market for attacking talent.
Dat the arrival of Adeyemi effectively ends Rashford’s stay, as the English striker’s loan from Manchester United was deemed too costly. Rashford, who wished to remain, is now set to leave the Spanish champions.
Voor Barcelona, the contrast between a €22 million investment in a young German talent and the departure of a seasoned English forward highlights a strategic shift toward long‑term building. The club’s summer narrative now centres on integrating Adeyemi while scouting further options.
