Barcelona lose Raphinha to Getafe and Galatasaray: attack doubts

Barcelona will face its La Liga commitment against Getafe on Saturday without its captain and top scorer, Raphinha. The player has also been ruled out for the Tuesday clash in the Champions League against Galatasaray, after a medical assessment that detected a minor muscle discomfort.

Diagnosis and caution

Hansi Flick spoke at a press conference on Friday and confirmed that the examinations showed a mild muscle discomfort, not a serious injury. “The tests indicate something, it is not an injury, but we must be careful because he had three injuries last year,” the coach said. As a precaution, Flick announced that Raphinha will not take part on Saturday nor on Tuesday against Galatasaray.

Barça chooses to preserve the most important player for the demanding three‑match run that follows: Real Betis, Paris Saint‑Germain and Real Madrid. The coaching staff trusts the depth of the attack to handle Getafe and Galatasaray without problems, ensuring that the captain regains full fitness.

Without Raphinha, Barcelona will lack its top scorer during the two commitments. However, the squad has several offensive options that can cover his temporary absence.

Next Saturday, the team will face Getafe in the league, while on Tuesday it will travel to Turkey to take on Galatasaray in the Champions League. Both fixtures will serve to assess the captain’s recovery before the decisive phase of the calendar.
