Barça worried: Raphinha misses upcoming internationals

The Brazilian Football Federation (CBF) announced on Wednesday that Raphinha will no longer play for Brazil during this international window. The 29‑year‑old forward of FC Barcelona was injured during the match against Australia (2‑4) and did not return to the field after halftime.

Injury and consequences for the national team

At halftime Raphinha stayed in the dressing room due to a slight muscle swelling at the back of his right thigh. After an imaging examination the CBF confirmed the injury and, as a precaution, the federation decided not to select Raphinha for the friendly international against India, scheduled for October 3.

The Brazilian federation has also not called up a replacement, meaning the squad must continue without their top scorer.

Raphinha is in top form this season; he also scored on Tuesday for the Divine Canaries. His absence will be a loss for both the Brazilian team and Barça.

FC Barcelona is monitoring the situation closely. The club has a tough schedule in October: on October 10 they resume the league against Getafe, followed by matches with Galatasaray, Paris Saint‑Germain and Real Madrid.

Raphinha's absence could affect Barça's performances during this crucial period, while the Brazilian side will have to improvise without their star player.
