Barça tops Spain's list for the U‑17 World Cup

In the FC Barcelona locker room, the spotlight shines on Carolina Ferrera and Elena Vizuete as they review the list of call‑ups for the Under‑17 World Cup, a scene that reflects the club's importance in the international campaign.

Barça provides the largest number of players

FC Barcelona, with eight footballers, is the team that contributes the most to the Spanish national team call‑up for the Under‑17 World Cup, according to Javier Gascón's Instagram post. The post confirmed that the tournament will be held in Morocco from October 17 to November 7, following the recent Under‑20 title at the World Cup in Poland.

Carolina Ferrera and Elena Vizuete have already debuted with Barça's first team, the first inclusion marked a spectacular goal against Alavés. Alongside them, the blaugrana representation includes Abril Rius, Bruna Quintana, Avril Serrano, Laia Cabetas, Lídia Gilbert and María Rius.

Athletic Club contributes five players: Goiatz Ferraz, Iraia Fernández, Maialen Valladares, Maddi Martín and Uzuri Cadenato. Atlético de Madrid adds Rocío de la Cruz and Ángela Gálvez, while Deportivo Antía sends Veiga, Granada sends Vera Molina, Madrid CFF sends María Aymerich and Real Madrid sends Abril Díaz, Marta Vega and Nuria Carracedo.

Spain, under the direction of coach Mila Martínez, has been placed in Group F alongside Mexico, Australia and Chile. The call‑up totals 21 footballers who will gather in Málaga for a pre‑tournament camp.

Camp in Málaga and friendlies

The camp will begin on Monday, October 5 in Málaga, where the squad will play two friendlies against Japan before traveling to Morocco on October 15. These matches will serve to fine‑tune the team's tactics and cohesion.

Spain's goal is to secure its third world title, after the triumphs in 2018 and 2022, and to reinforce the relevance of the Barça Play project as a revenue stream, according to Paloma Mikadze.
