Barça and Bayern teeter: Champions League sparks surprises

Tuesday 13 October 2026 the Champions League showed two opposite faces: Barcelona overcame Galatasaray 4‑1 in Istanbul, while Bayern Munich got stuck in the 3‑3 draw against Viking in Norway, showing that the race to the final is still uncertain.

Barça unstoppable in Istanbul

Barcelona, nicknamed the Blaugrana, started the match against Galatasaray with a goal from Rafael Leão at the 28’ minute. Cancelo equalised at the 43’ minute, but the tempo picked up immediately: Fermin López at the 50’, Gordon at the 53’ and Adeyemi at the 65’ sealed the result at 4‑1. Flick’s attack has collected ten consecutive wins in official matches, without conceding a goal.

Bayern blocked by Viking

In Norway, Bayern Munich suffered an unexpected setback: Viking took the lead with Stensness and Christiansen, but Bayern responded thanks to a brace from Harry Kane and a goal from Luis Díaz. However, Olise was sent off and the match ended 3‑3 with Haugen’s equaliser at the 90’ minute.

Arsenal and Atletico confirm the supremacy

Arsenal beat Lille 3‑0 at the Emirates, with goals from Timber (64’), Eze (67’) and Saka (71’) in just seven minutes. Atletico Madrid, led by Simeone, defeated Manchester United 2‑0: Barrios scored in less than a minute, followed by Lookman at the 50’ minute. Manchester United were reduced to ten men after Yoro’s dismissal at the 74’ minute.
