Bangor Seasiders eye stability after narrow miss in Premiership
Bangor Seasiders will look to cement their Irish Premiership status in the 2026‑27 season after finishing 10th in their first top‑flight campaign in 15 years, missing ninth place only on goal difference to Ballymena United and will aim for a comfortable finish.
The Seasiders ended the season in 10th place, edged out of 9th only by goal difference to Ballymena United. That narrow gap highlighted the competitiveness of the league for the newly promoted side.
Dubbed the Premiership newbies, Bangor will look to consolidate their place among Irish Premiership sides as manager Lee Feeney prepares for a demanding campaign. Feeney emphasises that building on the debut season is essential for long‑term stability.
Feeney knows the importance of consistency as the Seasiders seek a comfortable finish. He believes regular performance levels will prevent another fight for survival.
During the off‑season Lee Feeney oversaw the departure of seven players. He added Ayr United forward Lucas McRoberts and Portadown defender Steven McCullough to strengthen the squad.
The manager will rely heavily on striker Ben Arthurs to secure Premiership status. Arthurs, entering his eighth season, sits second on the club’s all‑time scoring list. Midfield options are further bolstered by newcomer Jeremi Rodriguez.
Seasiders' first five fixtures this season are against Cliftonville at home, Dungannon Swifts away, Carrick Rangers at home, Ballymena United at home and Glentoran away. With a solid core and targeted signings, the Seasiders aim to move beyond ‘Premiership newbies’ and establish themselves as a stable top‑flight side.
