Austria’s first season points clash with Hartberg’s winless start

Austria Wien celebrated their first Bundesliga‑Saisonpunkte with a 2‑0 Sieg in Hartberg, while the Hartberger side remain the only team at the bottom of the Tabelle, still without a point after three matches and have yet to score a goal, underscoring the stark contrast between the two clubs' fortunes.

The Veilchen travelled to the Steiermark and secured a 2:0 victory, leaving the Tabellenende and collecting their first points of the Bundesliga‑Saison. The win also marked Austria’s first Saisonsieg in the league this campaign. The match took place at the Profertil‑Arena before 3,600 spectators.

Daniel Nnodim opened the scoring in the 33rd minute, delivering his first Ligatoren for the club. Julian Hettwer doubled the lead in the 76th minute, also registering his inaugural league goal. The triumph followed Austria’s successful Conference‑League‑Qualifikation, adding confidence to the squad.

Coach Helm’s tactical reshuffle

Coach Stephan Helm, forced to replace the suspended Aleksandar Dragovic, introduced seven new players into the starting eleven three days after the European cup triumph over Beitar Jerusalem. The defensive line featured Ranftl, Handl and Buhari, while the midfield included Lee K. and Wustinger. The adjustments paid off as Austria controlled the match after the initial 20 minutes.

Hartberg’s Marco Hoffmann threatened in the 12th minute, followed by Paul Komposch’s shot in the 16th, signalling early intent. Armin Pecsi kept a clean sheet for the Hartberger Team despite the pressure.

Hartberg’s bleak start

The Hartberger side now sit as the sole point‑less team in the Liga, with zero goals from three matches. Their upcoming fixtures against Salzburg, Sturm and Austria promise further challenges.

The match featured goalkeepers Armin Pecsi for Hartberg and Samuel Sahin‑Radlinger for Austria, with yellow cards shown to Gattermayer, Coulibaly and Boateng. Key substitutions included Johannes Eggestein for Austria at 63 minutes and the introduction of Manfred Fischer as captain, whose ideal pass set up Hettwer’s Toren. Photographs by SCHERIAU captured the decisive moments.

Austria’s confidence from the Saisonsieg fuels optimism ahead of their Thursday clash in Braga, while Hartberg must reverse a winless run that threatens their season objectives. The divergent trajectories underline how early points shape momentum in the Bundesliga‑Saison.
