Aurélien Tchouaméni drives investments in African startups

Real Madrid midfielder Aurélien Tchouaméni announced at a press conference that he is expanding his career with a business side, investing in startups ranging from digital communication to water desalination, many of them focused on the African market.

Investment strategy and structure

In May 2024 he explained in a LinkedIn post his fascination with the entrepreneurial ecosystem, stating: “I closely follow the world of startups and have had the opportunity to acquire stakes in several projects, although my investing experience is still modest.” To organise his investments he works with Audentes Capital, a structure he manages together with his father and the agency Excellence Sport Nation.

Tchouaméni looks for opportunities in young companies, a segment with high growth potential but also significant risks. “I am attracted to participating in companies in their early stages and seeing how far their potential can go,” he added in the same post.

African startups and desalination projects

One of his notable investments is StarNews Mobile, a platform that allows African creators to distribute audiovisual content and monetize it. In October 2023 the company closed a financing round of three million dollars, in which investors linked to football participated, including Tchouaméni, although the total amount does not reflect his personal contribution.

In June 2024 his involvement in LAfricaMobile was confirmed, a Senegalese company specialised in digital communications and mobile marketing. The firm raised €4.3 million to boost its expansion in French‑speaking Africa and develop products that include artificial intelligence, without the amount invested by the footballer being disclosed.

Another project is Seawards, a French company that develops technology for seawater desalination. Tchouaméni noted that this investment reflects his interest in initiatives capable of addressing concrete social needs.

Although public data do not allow calculating the total value of his portfolio or the accumulated return, the investments reveal a diversified strategy that transcends his sporting career. The goal, according to his statements, is to create an investing activity that will accompany him when his career as a footballer ends.
