Atletico Madrid and Juventus Turin weigh interest in Noni Madueke

While Noni Madueke has not yet recorded a single start in the starting eleven for FC Arsenal in the current Premier League season, the Telegraph reports that Atlético Madrid and Juventus Turin have expressed interest in the 24‑year‑old attacking player. The potential transfer could bring new competition for Nick Woltemade, who has been on loan at Juventus since the summer.

The previously limited playing time of Noni Madueke at FC Arsenal has apparently prompted several European top clubs to take notice. His only appearance came in the Community Shield and the Carabao Cup. Photo: Pedro Porru/MB Media/GettyImages.

Interest from Spain and Italy

According to the Telegraph, Atlético Madrid and Juventus Turin are examining a possible approach for the 24‑year‑old attacking player. Both clubs have long been admirers of Madueke. The report also notes that additional suitors are expected in January for the market debut of the former Chelsea professional.

Competition for Nick Woltemade

The potential transfer would bring new competition for Nick Woltemade, who moved to Turin on loan in the summer. Woltemade, who comes from the DFB, is currently in Juventus’s (Juve) squad. A move by Madueke could further limit his playing time.

In Thomas Tuchel’s coaching staff, Madueke is regarded as one of England’s best one‑on‑one players. Despite this assessment, he was not selected for the opening Nations League matches of the season after losing his regular spot at Arsenal.

In the previous Premier League season, Madueke made sixteen starts but had to miss roughly two months due to a knee injury. He is still waiting for his first league start this season, similar to Viktor Gyökeres.

The competition pressure at Arsenal has increased. Team manager Mikel Arteta brought in Christos Tzolis, and Max Dowman has emerged as a great talent. Both players are fighting for places, while Tzolis and Kai Havertz recently fell out with thigh injuries.

Madueke moved in the summer of 2025 from FC Chelsea to Arsenal for about €56 million. Previously, he spent one and a half years with the Blues after his spell at PSV Eindhoven. He made his debut for the England national team in November 2024 under Lee Carsley, and at the last World Cup he featured five times, including the quarter‑final against Norway.
