Atlético De Madrid back on Bayer Leverkusen’s Ibrahim Maza

Bayer Leverkusen’s 20‑year‑old Algerian midfielder Ibrahim Maza has again attracted the attention of Atlético de Madrid, according to the Spanish club has renewed its interest in the young international. The renewed pursuit comes as several other European powerhouses monitor his progress.

Madrid and other giants show interest

Atlético de Madrid is not the only club tracking Maza. Manchester United, Arsenal and Manchester City are also said to be following his development, impressed by his versatility in midfield.

The trio of English clubs have been linked to the Bayer Leverkusen prospect, adding further competition for his signature.

Leverkusen plan contract upgrade

In response to the mounting interest, Bayer Leverkusen intend to secure the player’s future. Ekrem Konur disclosed that the German side is preparing a revaluation of Maza’s contract, even though he is already tied to the club until 30 June 2030.

Maza joined Bayer Leverkusen from Hertha Berlin in the summer of 2025, and his market value has risen rapidly, prompting the club’s proactive approach.

Leverkusen hope the contract enhancement will cement the midfielder’s stay as the list of suitors continues to grow.
