Atalanta eyes Noa Lang while Dennis Man tops its wish list
Atalanta Bergamo have confirmed they are not only chasing Dutch left‑winger Noa Lang but also have PSV‑aanvaller Dennis Man high on their wish list, according to transfer journalist Gianluca Di Marzio.
Lang's potential move to Atalanta
The Italian club is already the favourite to sign Lang from Napoli, although they are said to want more from the deal. On Thursday evening Di Marzio reported that Atalanta holds the best paperwork for the 27‑year‑old and that Ajax have withdrawn from the race for the Nederlandse linksbuiten.
Lang was the top candidate of the Amsterdammers to replace Mika Godts, who departed for Paris Saint-Germain, in the Johan Cruijff Arena. With Jordi Cruijff pulling out, Atalanta or Galatasaray now appear to be the next destinations for the Dutch winger.
Dennis Man on Atalanta's radar
At the same time, Maurizio Sarri wants the Romanian forward Man back to Italy, Di Marzio added. The Roemeense winger previously played for Parma FC before moving to PSV.
Eindhoven took Man last season for €8.5 million from the Italian side. He featured in 35 matches for PSV, finding the net eleven times and providing seven assists.
Transfer values and next steps
It is unclear whether PSV will cooperate with a departure, as Man started the first two competitive matches of the new season on the bench. For now, Ruben van Bommel is preferred over Man, who can also operate on the right wing.
According to Transfermarkt, Man’s current transfer value stands at €15 million. Atalanta’s strategy appears to involve shopping in Eindhoven for Lang while also aiming to bring the Roemeen back to Italy.
