Aston Villa surge ahead of Roma in race for Endrick as January looms

Aston Villa have moved into the driver’s seat of the winter pursuit for Brazilian prodigy Endrick, overtaking Roma as the club prepares to hit the transfer market in January. Villa’s management have been eyeing the 2006‑born winger since last summer, with Gian Piero Gasperini leading the charge.

Why Villa need Endrick now

Roma will reopen their transfer business in January, searching for a winger, and Endrick sits high on their shortlist. The player remains at Real Madrid after José Mourinho asked for his stay, but limited minutes have left him eager for a loan move in the winter window.

Endrick has expressed a desire to play in the Champions League, making Villa an attractive destination Europe’s premier competition, and the Brazilian will face the Italian side on 14 October when Real Madrid meet the Giallorossi at the Olimpico.

AC Milan are also tracking the Blancos’ number 9, meaning both Italian clubs must contend with Villa’s growing advantage. Spanish outlet Cadena SER reports Villa currently hold the upper hand in the race.

Roma’s coach, Tony D’Amico, will have to look elsewhere if Villa secure the deal, as the winger has been a target since his arrival and is deemed crucial for the Giallorossi’s plans.
