Aston Villa and Liverpool battle for Cher Ndour, former Benfica prospect

Aston Villa and Liverpool are analysing the possible signing of Cher Ndour, a 22‑year‑old attacking midfielder who plays for Fiorentina, with the Italian club demanding between €30 million and €35 million and holding a contract valid until 2029; so far, neither has submitted an official offer.

Aston Villa and Liverpool keep Cher Ndour on their respective lists of potential signings. According to the source Caught Offside, neither has yet presented a formal proposal to Fiorentina.

Caught Offside Assessment

Caught Offside reported that both clubs will monitor the attacking midfielder's development over the coming months before proceeding with any negotiation. The monitoring includes technical and on‑field performance analyses.

Value and contract

Fiorentina is looking to receive between €30 million and €35 million for Ndour's transfer, who has a contract valid until 2029. The Italian club has already invested €5 million in his acquisition.

In the current season, the player has been one of the highlights of the Florence side, despite the club not having started well. So far, Ndour has featured in five matches, scoring one goal and providing one assist.

Cher Ndour was developed in Benfica's youth categories between 2020 and 2023, before being transferred to PSG. The French club loaned him to Braga during the second half of the 2023/24 season.

Both Liverpool and Aston Villa continue to monitor the midfielder, but have not yet submitted an official offer. The 22‑year‑old remains in a scouting and analysis phase by the two English clubs.

The news was initially released by Transfer News Live and first appeared in the publication Bola na Rede.
