Arsenal launch cost review with consultants after title triumph
Arsenal have engaged external consultants to audit the club’s internal operations, a step announced on 11 Sep 2026 after their Premier League title win – the first in 22 years – and their second ever Champions League final appearance.
Consultants and cost review

The Gunners have enlisted Boston Consulting Group to scrutinise balance‑sheet items as part of a wide‑ranging cost review, with chief executive Richard Garlick taking a central role.
The review concentrates on non‑footballing aspects of a club that employs around 800 staff members. It is ongoing, so no firm decisions have been taken, and a financial review does not automatically signal redundancies – a similar review last season reshaped the medical department. Reach PLC approached Arsenal, but the club declined to comment.
Transfer activity and finances
Arsenal’s spending this season placed them ninth among Premier League net‑spenders, with marquee arrivals Bruno Guimaraes from Newcastle United and defender Ezri Konsa from Aston Villa.

Record‑breaking sales saw Gabriel Martinelli leave for Al‑Hilal for £60m, while Gabriel Jesus and Leandro Trossard departed for Barcelona and Besiktas respectively, fetching a combined £28.1m. The previous campaign generated roughly £300m in prize money from the league title, Champions League final, League Cup final and FA Cup quarter‑final, and ownership, led by Josh Kroenke, is determined to keep the club financially self‑sustaining. In a May letter Josh Kroenke wrote, “The connection we feel with our supporters fills us with pride… we are always forward in our approach, taking the learnings as we go and relentless in the pursuit of progress.”
Early season success and future plans
Arsenal have begun the new season with a perfect winning record across all competitions, thrashing Manchester City 3‑0 to claim the Community Shield, edging Chelsea 2‑1 at the Emirates, and securing a 1‑0 away win over Napoli in the Champions League.
THE GUNNERS now head north to face Sunderland at the Stadium of Light before kicking off their League Cup campaign away to Ipswich Town next Tuesday. OUR Arsenal remain focused on raising standards and building on the momentum generated by last season’s triumph.
