Arsenal face Premier League strain after International week injuries

The three‑week International match window that stretched from September into October saw Arsenal emerge as the hardest‑hit club, with six of its players nursing injuries on their return to the Premier League, according to a Daily Mail analysis published on the 8th.

The Arsenal injuries include Ecuadorian defender Piero Incapie, England defenders Ezri Konsa and Martin Ødegaard (who suffered a minor knock but recovered before the window closed), England midfielder Declan Rice who left the national team for load management, England U‑19 midfielder Max Dowman, Germany forward Kai Havertz and Greece forward Fristos Tzolis.

Other clubs also felt the strain: Liverpool fielded 17 internationals in 51 matches and lost four key forwards, including Sweden’s Alexander Isak and Netherlands’ Cody Gakpo; Manchester City saw three internationals sidelined, among them Norway’s Erling Haaland; Sunderland, described as one of the biggest losers, lost Netherlands forward Brian Brobbey and Northern Ireland defender Daniel Barden. Fulham, Nottingham Forest and Ipswich Town were the only Premier League sides to finish the period without any reported injuries.
