Arsenal discuss internally Bayern star Min-Jae Kim as a winter target

At the training centre of FC Arsenal, according to ‑newspaper, internal talks are being held about the signing of FC Bayern‑centre‑back Min‑Jae Kim. Chief scout Maurizio Micheli, the Gunners‑chief scout, has made the 29‑year‑old South Korean a topic at the Premier‑League champion. A transfer in the winter window is unrealistic, but later interest could become more concrete.
Contractual Situation and Past Performances
Kim is under contract with FC Bayern until 2028 and talks about extending the partnership are planned. In the current season he has made six league appearances, a total of 489 minutes, without registering a scoring point.
In the ranking of Bayern‑centre‑backs he nominally holds third place behind Dayot Upamecano and Jonathan Tah. Micheli had already brought Kim from Fenerbahçe for €19 million in 2022; a year later he moved for €50 million to Bayern.
Arsenal had already shown interest last summer, as a replacement for William Saliba was being sought. Kim, however, turned down a move at that time and remained at FC Bayern, while Arsenal instead signed Ezri Konsa from Aston Villa for €60 million.
Next Wednesday, October 21, FC Bayern will host Arsenal on the third Champions‑League‑league matchday.
