Arsenal confirms top performances despite a missed striker
With the 2‑1 victory over Chelsea on Sunday, Arsenal keep its unbeaten start in the Premier League intact and boost the early title ambitions of manager Mikel Arteta. The Gunners remain the only team with a perfect record after the first round of matches.
Kai Havertz shone for Chelsea and provided the equaliser to make it 1‑1. Shortly afterwards Arsenal found the winning goal and closed the match at 2‑1.
Chris Sutton, British analyst, praised the quality of Arteta's side. “I see no one stopping this Arsenal,” he said after the win. Jamie Carragher spoke glowing words about Havertz. “To push him out of this team, you have to be one of the best players in the world,” Carragher added.
Mikel Arteta highlighted the chemistry between Havertz, Martin Ødegaard and Bukayo Saka. “He enjoys playing football, which is why he reaches that point,” the manager explained.
Missed signings and transfer dream
The reigning league champion failed last summer's transfer window to secure the desired top‑of‑the‑line signing for the attack. Names such as Julian Álvarez, Bradley Barcola and Vinícius Jr. were mentioned, but Arsenal could not seal a deal. The BBC noted little about the miss and headlined: ‘No new striker, no worries.’
