Arsenal and Liverpool join chase for Bournemouth’s £100m midfielder

Arsenal and Liverpool are reportedly tracking Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott, the 23‑year‑old who could fetch as much as £100 million when he leaves the Cherries. The Turkish journalist Ekrem Konur posted on X that both Premier League clubs are monitoring his future closely.

Midfield talent draws Premier League giants

Scott has established himself as a top performer for Bournemouth, regularly influencing games from midfield. His consistency has made him a key pillar, prompting the club to fight hard to retain his services. The midfielder’s blend of creativity and work‑rate has attracted interest from the league’s elite.

Bournemouth aim to retain but face reality

Ekrem Konur, a Turkish journalist, highlighted the growing buzz on X, noting that Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester United and Tottenham are all monitoring Scott. KONUR’s post sparked the flurry of speculation, and the Daily has suggested his market value could rise to £100 million by the summer of 2027. Bournemouth recognise his importance but understand a move to a bigger club may be inevitable.

For Arsenal, signing Scott would add depth to a midfield already bolstered by recent signings such as Bruno Guimaraes. Manager Mikel Arteta’s recent success – a Premier League title and a Champions League final appearance – offers a winning environment that could appeal to the young Englishman. The Gunners also view him as a long‑term solution to maintain their recent domestic success.

Liverpool, meanwhile, could offer Scott immediate regular minutes, addressing the Merseyside side’s need for upgrades on Ryan Gravenberch and Alexis Mac Allister. A return to work with former Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola, now at Anfield, might also sway his decision. Moreover, Liverpool’s recent restructuring of the midfield suggests Scott could become a central figure quickly.

Manchester United and Tottenham are also listed among the clubs keeping tabs on the midfielder, widening the competition for his signature. Scott’s choice will likely hinge on a balance between guaranteed playing time and the allure of a project that promises silverware.

Should either Arsenal or Liverpool secure the deal, Bournemouth would lose a central figure around which their recent performances have revolved. Conversely, the buying club would acquire a versatile midfielder capable of shaping games in the Premier League.
