Arokodare hints at Ajax move after European heroics fuel talk

Super Eagles forward Tolu Arokodare has said he wants to turn his loan spell at Ajax into a permanent transfer after an inspiring display in the UEFA Conference League. The Nigerian striker, on loan from Wolverhampton Wanderers, impressed in Amsterdam and left the club eager to keep him.
The impact came when Arokodare entered the game against Atalanta in the 66th minute at the Johan Cruijff ArenA. He broke the deadlock in the 87th minute and then set up Abdellah Ouazane for a 93rd‑minute winner, delivering a dramatic victory.
The win gave Ajax their first Conference League points of the campaign, following an opening matchday loss to Hajduk Split. It also highlighted the loan player’s ability to change games in crucial moments.

Future negotiations
Speaking to LiveScore after the match, the loanee joked that his future lies between Ajax and Wolves, adding, “Tell that to Ajax, and maybe increase my salary.” He confirmed his affection for the Dutch giants, saying, “Of course I’m open to it. I love it here. I’ve felt love here from day one.”
While Ajax consider a permanent deal, Wolverhampton Wanderers retain the final say. Arokodare’s desire and his European heroics have put both clubs under pressure to reach an agreement.
