Arne Engels eyes Premier League move, Nottingham Forest leads

Belgian midfielder Arne Engels, 22, is set to depart Celtic Glasgow for a Premier League club next season, with Nottingham Forest emerging as the clear frontrunner. The 22‑year‑old has attracted interest from several English sides, including Crystal Palace, as he weighs his options.

Nottingham Forest is pressing hard for Engels, hoping he can fill the vacancy left by Elliot Anderson. The club views Engels as a potential successor in midfield.

Elliot Anderson is set to join Manchester City for a reported €150 million, a Premier League record fee. The English international is currently competing in the World Cup with the Three Lions.

Other clubs monitoring Engels include Tottenham, Fulham, AS Rome and Atletico Madrid, each placing him high on their scouting lists. Their interest adds competition to Forest’s pursuit.

Engels began his senior career at Club Brugge before moving to Club NXT, then to Augsburg, and later to Celtic Glasgow. His progression through these clubs has raised his profile in England.

Negotiations are expected to conclude next week or, at the latest, early the following week, allowing Engels a full pre‑season with his new side. He has expressed a desire for complete preparation before the move.
