Antonio Obbedio praises Issa Doumbia as a modern midfielder

Issa Doumbia received praise from Antonio Obbedio, sporting director of Venezia, who told Mediaset that the Italian player has developed into a modern midfielder, capable of playing across the pitch and scoring goals, after being called up by the Italy national team.

The midfielder is living a dream week, after making the Italian national team squad. So far, Doumbia has played eight matches for Venezia, with one assist.

The Venetian club acquired the player from Sporting in the last summer transfer window. The signed contract runs until 2031 and includes a release clause of 80 million euros.
