Antef Tsoungui extends stay at Estoril to 2030, a Belgian renewal
While Zeno Debast is often mentioned among the promising young Belgian players, another former Diablotin, former U21 international Antef Tsoungui, has signed an extension with Estoril in Portugal, securing his stay until 2030 after a season marked by 33 appearances and an injury at OH Leuven.
A renewal at Estoril
Antef Tsoungui, 23, joined Estoril in September 2025 from Feyenoord. The Belgian midfielder quickly found the stability he had been missing after difficult years. Since his arrival, he has played 33 official matches with the Portuguese club.
His solid performances have earned him a key role within the team. In addition to his midfield position, he can also operate as a central defender. This versatility has boosted the technical staff's confidence.
Before Estoril, Tsoungui was on loan at OH Leuven, where a serious cruciate ligament injury hampered his development. During the 2024/2025 season, he played only 44 minutes. This difficult period limited his appearances to just two matches.
Extension until 2030
His initial contract, signed until 2029, has been extended by an additional year, keeping it until 2030. The club's management decided to anticipate this extension after observing his positive impact. This decision ensures Estoril has the Belgian's presence for several more seasons.
“The decision to extend my stay was very easy,” Tsoungui said via the club's official channels. He added that the warm welcome from his first day had made the place “very special.” The player now wishes to repay that confidence with his performances on the pitch.
Thus, while Zeno Debast is often mentioned as one of the young Belgian talents to watch, Tsoungui shows that another Diablotin can also carve his path in Portugal. His extension illustrates how perseverance can transform a career that has been hampered. The future of this Belgian midfielder now appears firmly rooted at Estoril.
