Another Liverpool star draws Real Madrid offer amid midfield doubts

Spanish outlet Defensa Central another Liverpool star, midfielder Alexis Mac Allister, has been offered to Real Madrid, with the English club reportedly willing to accept a €100 million (about £85 million) transfer fee. The 27‑year‑old is under contract until June 2028 and is said to believe his time in England is over.

The Spanish claim comes as Real Madrid continue to link with midfielders of this calibre, attracted by Mac Allister’s technical quality, control and intelligence displayed on international duty with Argentina. Strong tournament form tends to sharpen attention from elite clubs, and the Spanish giants are regularly linked with players of his profile.

Liverpool face fresh transfer doubt after the Spanish claim, with the club assessing a fluid midfield picture this summer. Uncertainty surrounds squad depth, contract planning and market opportunities as new head coach Andoni Iraola looks to reshape a side after a disappointing 2025/26 campaign.

Mac Allister’s dip in form during the 2025/26 season had previously made a summer sale appear logical, given his contract runs until 2028 and his market value. Recent improvements on the international stage have revived his standing, prompting the €100 million offer.

If the deal proceeds, Liverpool would secure a substantial £85 million sum, yet replacing a proven international central midfielder at short notice would be far from simple. Offloading one of the few experienced central players would create another major issue for Iraola’s rebuilding plans.

For Real Madrid, securing a technically gifted midfielder would add depth to a squad that routinely pursues top talent. For Liverpool, the potential cash influx must be weighed against the cost, risk and timing of finding a suitable replacement, making the story one to monitor rather than panic over.
