Anderlecht eyes Icelandic left‑back as Augustinsson rival

Anderlecht remains active in the market for a left‑back and wants to create competition for Ludwig Augustinsson. The club has set its sights on Logi Tómasson, an Icelandic international currently under contract with Turkish side Samsunspor.

The 25‑year‑old Tómasson is a regular for both his club and the Iceland national team. He has earned sixteen caps and featured in twenty‑nine league matches last season, contributing one goal and four assists.

According to several Turkish sources, Anderlecht has already submitted an initial offer of roughly €3.5 million for the defender. Samsunspor, however, indicated it would not release its left‑back for that amount.

Samsunspor is reportedly aiming for a transfer fee of about €5 million. The club highlighted that Tómasson was acquired only a year ago for €700,000 and is contracted until the summer of 2029.

The Turkish side also wishes to retain the left‑footed defender. Technical staff member Michel Ribeiro described him as a key piece in the club’s plans for the coming season.

It is not yet clear whether Anderlecht will increase its bid. The Brussels club continues to explore the market for a left‑back who can challenge Augustinsson, add quality to Vitor Bruno’s squad and provide depth.

Anderlecht is not the only interested party; Polish club Widzew Łódź has been mentioned as a possible destination, but the Belgian champions appear the most concrete option at present.
