Amorim at Portugal Football Summit meets Boto, a reminder of Cardinale for Milan

In the afternoon in Oeiras, at the Portugal Football Summit, Milan coach Ruben Amorim greeted Flamengo sporting director José Boto with a broad smile, in an informal meeting captured by Sky Sport cameras.

A Cardinale memory in the Milan management

In the past, Boto had been proposed by Gerry Cardinale for the role of Milan sporting director, but the idea did not translate into any concrete negotiations. Cardinale's interest, owner and founder of RedBird, aimed at a revolution of the Milan hierarchy.

Amorim listens to and comments on Boto's football

During the summit, Amorim participated as an observer, watching the discussions about the future of football. Boto, interviewed by Sky Sport, praised Amorim's style of play, calling it “special” and emphasizing the need for time and the right players to make it work at Milan.

The Milan coach reiterated that Milan must win inevitably, but added that patience is needed for the players to adapt to the new project. If the club grants this margin, according to Boto, Milan will be able, after Stefano Pioli, to fight for something important.

Milan back on Krosche, among Flamengo's alternatives Boto

Boto then spoke about his contract with Flamengo, describing the Brazilian club as “huge” with 40 million fans, and expressed his fascination with Italian football, stating that he has repeated it many times.

He concluded by stating that the figure of the sporting director is highly valued in Italy compared to other countries and expressed the desire to work in Italian football should he return to Europe.

Today, for the role of Head of Football at Milan, the preferred candidate remains Markus Krosche, chosen to build a world‑class structure.
