Allegri vows solid start for Napoli against Genoa – VIDEO

Massimiliano Allegri, the newly appointed head coach of SSC Napoli, addressed the media in a live VIDEO press conference ahead of the Serie A season opener between Genoa and Napoli. The meeting, held on the first matchday, set the tone for his inaugural official appearance.

In this "Conferenza stampa", Allegri fielded a query on whether the "Squadra" would be mutable or restricted to a single system. He confirmed it was his first press briefing before an official fixture as Napoli's manager. The session was streamed as a VIDEO for supporters.

Allegri promises tactical flexibility

Allegri highlighted that the team possesses excellent values and has been well‑trained by Antonio Conte. He added that, with such qualities, Napoli can mix characteristics and employ multiple systems of play. This suggests a departure from a rigid formation. The upcoming Genoa‑Napoli encounter will be the first test of these ideas.

The coach praised the squad’s work ethic, noting that the players have responded positively to the training methods. He emphasized that while the preparation has been solid, only matches that truly count will matter. Consequently, a solid performance is required on the technical level.

He also stressed that the upcoming clash against Genoa will demand a solid display both tactically and technically. Allegri warned that the season’s opening game will set the benchmark for the campaign. Success will depend on translating the training advantages into results.

The press release began with the symbols "A‑" and "A+" in its header, a detail noted by observers. These markers appeared alongside the standard "Stampa" label in the conference documentation. Their inclusion underscores the formal nature of the announcement.
