Allegri’s close watch on Lucca defines Napoli’s Castel di Sangro camp
Rasmus Hojlund left the training field after only a few minutes during the second day of Napoli’s Ritiro at Castel di Sangro, a moment that underscored Max Allegri’s intense focus on striker Lorenzo Lucca. The session was streamed as FOTO CN24 and promoted on Google Discover, with the headline noting Fonti and Stampa A− A+.
The morning drill began with a 3‑vs‑2 exercise, featuring green‑clad Lang, Lobotka and Vergara against orange‑clad Hojlund, McTominay and Baridò, while yellow‑team Folorunsho, Lucca and Giovane and pink‑team Anguissa, Cheddira and Politano rotated in numerical inferiority. A subsequent reduced‑size game expanded to 10‑vs‑10, testing the squad’s adaptability.
Several first‑team regulars were absent: Alisson, Gilmour, Neres and Beukema did not feature. After a brief appearance, Hojlund exited the field, and later Pasquale Mazzocchi and Amir Rrahmani also left the training session.
Throughout the drills, Allegri repeatedly approached Lucca for one‑on‑one conversations, signalling the striker’s elevated status in the camp. The coach’s frequent consultations with the forward were noted as a key tactical focus.
Ciro De Luca provided an extensive FOTO gallery for CalcioNapoli24, capturing every moment of the training and the camp’s atmosphere. The images were shared live on the CalcioNapoli24 YouTube channel and the CN24 TV network.
The live broadcast was scheduled for 10:00, with coverage on CalcioNapoli24 TV (digital terrestrial channel 79 in Napoli, Caserta, Avellino and Benevento, and channel 84 in Salerno) and on YouTube. Journalists Ilario Covino, Simone Guadagno and Claudio Russo reported from the ground, while photographer Ciro De Luca documented the events.
The full camp programme includes press conferences, friendly matches and open training sessions, all streamed by CalcioNapoli24. A total of 32 players were called up by Massimiliano Allegri for the 2026 Castel di Sangro retreat, held in the AQ province of CASTEL DI SANGRO.
