Al Hilal salary fuels Serie A chase for Inzaghi, Juventus and Napoli

Italian coach Simone Inzaghi is currently under a two‑year deal with Al Hilal in Saudi Arabia, earning roughly €25 million a year until 30 June 2027, but his agent has reignited speculation that he may return to Serie A, with Juventus and Napoli named as possible destinations.

Al Hilal contract and achievements

The contract, Con, runs until 30 June 2027 and guarantees the former Lazio and Inter boss a hefty annual wage. In his first season he lifted the King’s Cup of Champions, yet he could not secure the Saudi league title, which fell to Al Nassr. His tenure began after a heavy defeat to Paris Saint‑Germain in the UEFA Champions League final in June 2025, prompting his departure from Italy.

Agent's view on future

Federico Pastorello told SportMediaset that nothing is settled yet. "If there has ever been a chance to return to Italy in the summer, a year of experience has helped him a lot, and at the end of the year the sums will be added up. It is not closed in any sense, and the club's will must also be considered," he said. Pastorello added that four to five clubs, including Italian sides, have shown interest this summer, but Inzaghi has so far preferred to stay.

Italian clubs eyeing Inzaghi

Juventus, now managed by Luciano Spalletti, and Napoli, led by Massimiliano Allegri, are the most concrete Serie A options. Both clubs have previously identified Inzaghi as a potential successor to Antonio Conte at Juventus and to Allegri at Napoli. Inter, Roma and Milan have also been mentioned in past rumours, but no formal approach has been made.

Premier League interest

Beyond Italy, the Premier League remains on Pastorello’s radar. Manchester City, Liverpool and Arsenal are reportedly out of the market, while Chelsea is rebuilding under Xabi Alonso. Tottenham, currently coached by Roberto De Zerbi, and Manchester United, overseen by Michael Carrick, are highlighted as clubs that could consider a managerial change.

The contract expires at the end of the Saudi Pro League season, meaning a decision could be required by June 2027. Should Inzaghi leave, his profile will sit on the desks of Juventus, Napoli and several Premier League outfits, all watching his next move closely.
