Advanced talks between Daniel Carvajal and Getafe make his Madrid stay possible

The 34-year-old right‑back Daniel Carvajal, who after his return from Bayer 04 Leverkusen in 2013 made over 451 appearances for Real Madrid, has been club‑less since the end of June and is on the verge of a possible move to FC Getafe, without having to leave the city of Madrid.

Negotiations and League Approval

According to the Spanish newspapers “ABC” and “”, the talks with the Madrid suburb club are already advanced. However, the Spanish LaLiga still has to give the green light for a signing, because the league’s salary cap for the current season is set at €56.7 million.

Financial Framework

Carvajal earned up to €10 million at Real Madrid, an amount Getafe cannot match, because the club’s salary budget for all players, reserves and coaches is limited to €41.4 million in sporting costs plus €5.2 million for the non‑sporting sector. His market value is listed at €4 million, making him one of the most valuable club‑less players worldwide.

In the September financial report, “”, Getafe had already listed the club’s salary costs for the season at €41.4 million in sporting expenses and €5.2 million for the non‑sporting sector. Despite these constraints, Carvajal remains, after the latest market‑value update of club‑less professionals, one of the most expensive right‑backs without a club.

For Getafe, Carvajal would be the most experienced player in the squad and could only be registered for the Conference League after the league phase. On the right side, the team already relies on Andrés García (on loan from Aston Villa) and Kiko Femenía.

The squad also includes former Bundesliga professionals such as Orel Mangala (28) and Borja Mayoral (29). Carvajal has 52 caps for Spain, including the Euro 2024 title, but did not take part in the World Cup triumph of 2026.

The discussion about Carvajal’s future is accompanied by the community, the gaming and support departments, as well as the premium service of the transfer market, with current news, video highlights and analyses being provided on the platforms.
