Adidas revives Beckham’s iconic 2001 Predator boots for the Three Lions
Adidas has launched a third‑generation Predator boot to mark the 25th anniversary of David Beckham’s decisive free‑kick that sent England to the World Cup against Greece in 2001. The limited‑edition release reproduces the white and light‑grey colourway worn at Old Trafford and bears the name ‘Beckham’ on the tongue and the No 7 on the heel.
Design pays tribute to a historic moment
The new Predator Precision Remade is co‑designed with Beckham and draws directly from the original Precision model he wore in October 2001. Adidas notes that the boot features the classic Trefoil logo for only the second time in Predator history, a nod to the special‑edition release that sold out within 24 hours in 2024.
“A defining feature of the design is the inclusion of the Trefoil logo, appearing for only the second time in Predator history,” the manufacturer explains. “The colourway mirrors the white and red execution Beckham chose for that free‑kick, blending heritage with elevated craftsmanship.”
Modern technology meets retro styling
Built on the Predator Elite FT L‑Tech concept, the boot combines premium leather forefoot for a soft touch with lightweight support and modern performance technologies. The Remade pairs replace the heel logo with the classic Beckham Adidas emblem while retaining the Trefoil in the three‑stripe motif.
Sam Handy, General Manager of Adidas Football, said: “Few moments in football history capture the spirit of Predator quite like David Beckham’s free kick against Greece. With this special edition release, we wanted to honour that moment through a design that combines authentic football heritage, premium craftsmanship and modern performance innovation.”
Adidas adds a playful reminder of the timing: “Who says nothing ever happens over international break!?” The boots are limited in number, urging fans to act quickly.
