Adams' brace propels Venezia, sets clash with Okoye in Coppa Italia

Akor Adams will face international teammate Maduka Okoye in the Coppa Italia round of 16 after marking his Venezia debut with a brace and an assist in a crucial 3-2 win over Serie B side Modena in a dramatic Saturday night match.

Making his first appearance since his move from Spanish La Liga club Sevilla, Adams netted the late winner that sent his side into the next round.

Early drama and Adams' response

Modena, who feature in Serie B, took the lead in the 17th minute through Giuseppe Ambrosino, but nine minutes later Adams levelled the score.

Ambrosino restored the advantage in the 39th minute to make it 2-1, only for Adams to set up John Yeboah for the equaliser on 83 minutes.

Two minutes later, Adams got on the scoresheet again, bagging the winning goal for Venezia.

With that performance, Adams will now come up against Okoye in the Coppa Italia round of 16.
