AC Milan secure Forest forward Hutchinson on season‑long loan

AC Milan have completed a season‑long loan for Nottingham Forest forward Omari Hutchinson, with the deal running until the end of the campaign and an option to make the move permanent. The 23‑year‑old will join the seven‑time European champions at the San Siro for the rest of the season.

Limited minutes at Forest

The loan was announced with a Getty Images photo caption noting Hutchinson's only minutes this season came in Forest's League Cup defeat by Leeds United. The accompanying Image, supplied by Getty Images, highlighted the lack of playing time.

Last season at the City Ground, he managed just 17 Premier League starts under four different managers, underscoring his peripheral role in the squad.

Why Milan pursued Hutchinson

His temporary exit follows a £37.5m transfer from Ipswich Town a year earlier, after the Tractor Boys secured promotion to the Premier League and made his loan permanent. Hutchinson rose through Chelsea’s academy, spent time at Arsenal, signed his first professional contract in 2020, returned to Stamford Bridge in 2022 for two appearances and then joined Ipswich in 2023.

He was part of the England Under‑21 side that won the European Championship in 2025, adding a continental pedigree to his résumé. Milan will assign him the number 20 shirt for the season.

For Milan, the loan provides a forward who can add depth and a fresh attacking option as they chase European success. For Forest, the move frees up squad space after a season of limited involvement, hoping the loan will reignite Hutchinson’s development.
